Assessment of Urban Green Space Distribution within the Scope of European Green Deal Using NDVI Indice; Case of Nicosia/Cyprus

In this study, the urban green space distribution was determined, and city's compliance with European Green Deal evaluated. Firstly, Landsat 8 satellite images were radiometrically corrected Quantum GIS software. Then, NDVI produced using Red-Green-Blue Near-Infrared bands of processed data obtained. Finally, image a value between -1 +1 reclassified to define open spaces. The classification showed that areas have nonhomogeneous throughout city, amount per capita is approximately 200 m². According results Northern Nicosia, surface area 475 km², calculated as 16m², constituting 2.97%. Thus, it has been concluded regions are denser in certain parts city than others do not homogeneous can serve whole town.
